About HNIT: Overview

HNIT is situated in Hengyang , the second largest city of Hunan province. Hengyang is about 500kms away from Guangzhou, the economic center of South China. It is only two hours' journey from Hengyang to Guangzhou by high-speed railway train.

HNIT lays particular stress on promoting engineering subjects, meanwhile develops other academic subjects such as economics, management and arts, to set up an university which provides the society a great deal of technology service, and which turns out high-quality undergraduates with practical skills¡±.

Today, more than 1,000 faculty members instruct approximately 18,000undergraduate students and diploma students.  

HNIT's History

Approved by Ministry of Education, Hunan Building Materials Higher College (founded in 1978) and Hengyang Branch of Hunan University (founded in 1975) amalgamated for establishing a new comprehensive undergraduate university ¨C Hunan Institute of Technology, which is under Hunan Provincial Educational Department.

Feature

Emphasized on speciality construction and talent cultivation mode creation, HNIT has formed four speciality chains, Machinery and Automation, Electrics and Information, Management and Safety and Civil Engineering and Materials, More than ten of which are respectively ¡°National Excellent Engineer Education Speciality¡± £¬ ¡°National Comprehensive Reform Pilot Speciality¡± £¬ ¡°Provincial Comprehensive Reform Pilot Speciality¡±and¡°¡°Key Speciality of Colleges and Universities in Hunan¡±.
